Stephen Haley is a painter and digital media artist with an extensive national and international exhibition history. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards and grants including: The Rupert Bunny Foundation Visual Arts Fellowship (2016), the Australia Council for the Arts New Work Grant (2009), the Australia Council Overseas Studio Residency ( LA 2006), the Arts Victoria Project Grant (2012), the R & M McGivern Prize for Painting (2006), the ANZ Visual Art Fellowship (2004) and the Deacon, Graham and James/Arts21 Tokyo residency (1998).

He holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne (2015) and is also a writer and a Senior Lecturer at the VCA/ University of Melbourne.
